The School of Media provides excellent multi-platform facilities in our recently built Media Centre at Park Campus. We offer undergraduate courses in Creative Media, Film, Film Production, Journalism, Music and Media Management, Popular Music, Radio Production and Televison Production for those who want to gain the critcal and creative practical skills they need in the media industry and the academic background to succeed. Media Masters courses in Media and Creative Enterprise, Journalism and Film and Screen Enterprise are offered for those who want to consolidate, refresh or convert their learning and work experience toward employment in the media, journalism and creative industries.
The School has the extra prestige of being a Skillset Media Academy, which means we have been recognised as a centre of excellence. We have accreditation from the Broadcast Journalism Training Council for our undergraduate journalism course. These accreditations put us among the highest placed media schools in the key league tables published in the UK.
As a Media Academy we ensure our research and practice are current and industry-connected and that we have access to a wide network of academics, researchers and practitioners and their work.
The School of Media offers research opportunities for postgraduates wishing to pursue media-based research and practice at MA, MPhil, MRes and PhD levels. We are blessed with expert tutors in their fields who as supervisory teams can support innovative media research and practice. Many of these experts belong to our thriving Research Centres.
