Audio Technician & Sound Engineer
I entered the Popular Music course not knowing what I wanted to do, but knew that I wanted music to be my priority in my life.
I soon discovered that the course was tailored for all reaches of the industry and I had some incredible connections and talents at my fingertips.
On entering my third and final year on the course, I participated in a pioneering internship scheme, which enabled me to learn extra-vocational qualities assisting the Audio Technician on the course. This allowed me to not only work towards my degree on an academic basis, but also learn new practices that may not be able to be taught elsewhere. Having always been interested in music production and record engineering, I began to apply these techniques to live sound whilst on the course. The facilities and equipment that the course provides were imperative to me learning these new skills and abilities. I can never be thankful enough for what this course has taught me.
Marcus is now employed by the University as a Media Technician Assistant, as well as working within the local music community as a sound engineer.
