Student work and Projects - Chris Knott

I play in bands (Freeze The Atlantic & Twelve Titans) Performance is my main passion as a musician. In these bands we produce & release our own material, tour and promote our own music.

All of the skills I need to keep these bands going are addressed by the Popular Music degree, the facilities made available to produce and record your own music are invaluable, and the modules taught on music business are useful when deciding on releasing material.

In 2010 Freeze The Atlantic joined a 16 date tour with Welsh band Attack! Attack! In early 2011 we will be producing & releasing a single/EP and later in the year an album (some of which may be tracked at the studio at the university) whilst also touring, and playing some festivals in the summer.

The course also offers opportunity to gain practical experience in other fields, for me this has been live sound engineering. Myself and other POM students last year did the live sound for Exposure Music Awards, and we continue to do the Xposed Club, held on the university campus.
