Rachel teaches film making, style and history to Film Production students. With a background in broadcast television and film-making as well as a first degree in Drama she is especially interested in performance and mise-en-scene, with her current research area being ‘the colourist’.
Her university work is constantly supported by various film projects working with local communities and institutions exploring the advantages of new visual media and their role in supporting under represented groups. Her ‘extra-curricular’ work includes working with poets, (work reviewed by Sean Street in journal ‘Viewfinder’), Gloucester Black Elders, (work shown on clinical case studies website, at conferences and as a training resource), secondary school children (knife crime awareness) and health care professionals (DVD work being disseminated nationally).
