Living in residence is a great way to meet people and start university life. Residences are located on or near each campus.
All Gloucester halls have single en-suite bedrooms, telephones in rooms and high-speed internet access. There are laundries at each site and a free university bus service. The Residential Support Team is on hand to provide high quality pastoral care and you will meet a broad range of people within an inclusive community.
Oxstalls Halls of Residence
Set in the campus grounds, these halls of residence house 175 students in six blocks. Flats are arranged in clusters of seven to nine single study en-suite bedrooms, with students sharing a fully equipped kitchen/diner.
Halls are reserved for first year undergraduates. Oxstalls Campus halls: £106 per week (2010-2011 prices).
Upper Quay
This is a development in the centre of Gloucester within walking distance of Oxstalls campus and located on the free university bus route. This residence houses 133 students. Flats are arranged in clusters of five to six single study en-suite bedrooms, with students sharing a fully equipped kitchen/diner.
Upper Quay: £103 per week (2010-2011 prices).
Ermin Hall
The newest development in Gloucester is located a short walk (15 minutes) from the Oxstalls campus and 85 students are housed in this residence in two blocks. Flats are arranged in clusters of five to nine single study en-suite bedrooms, with students sharing a fully equipped kitchen/diner.
Halls are reserved for first year undergraduates. Ermin Hall: £103 per week (2010-2011 prices).
Shared Flats or Houses
If staying in a hall of residence isn’t for you, the Accommodation Office holds a database of registered flats and houses. Each property must meet certain standards and is regularly visited by the accommodation staff to make sure these are met. The Accommodation Office can also provide information on lodgings accommodation (rooms within a landlord’s own home).
