Profile

Don is Course Leader of the undergraduate Sports Coaching programmes and the School’s Lead for Teaching, Learning and Assessment.

Areas of research interest and teaching expertise

Don’s interests surround sports pedagogy, performance analysis and research methods. Don’s research follows similar themes and he is currently investigating innovative pedagogies in a variety of coaching settings. 

Don is also an elite hockey coach, working as Head Coach at Sutton Coldfield Ladies Hockey Club in the England Hockey League Premier Division. As part of this role, he is currently leading a group of staff and students in an innovative indoor hockey project concerning performance norms and tactical structures. 

Don is also currently involved with commissioned research for Sports Coach UK concerning coach development initiatives between National Governing Bodies of Sport and County Sport Partnerships.
