Profile
I qualified as a Physical Education Teacher in 1990 after studying at St Paul’s and St Mary’s College Cheltenham. I then taught for 10 years in secondary schools in both Wiltshire and Gloucestershire. For the majority of this time I was both a Head of Physical Education and a Head of Year.
I really wanted to stay as a subject specialist so started my Masters in Philosophy in order to become a lecturer and secured this post in 2000. In 2003 in addition to my role within the Sports Education Course, I became the Subject Leader for the PGCE in PE.
I have particular interests in teaching high quality Physical Education and have presented at conference on this topic. Other particular areas of interest include health and its relationship with Physical Education and sexuality and sport.

Within a theoretical context my main areas of expertise are in learning styles and theories, National Curriculum, Group Dynamics and sociocultural issues within sport and PE.
