Sports Scholarships 

Successful candidates will receive:

  • A bursary to help cover costs for the benefit of the scholar’s sport ie travel, training/competition, expenses, equipment
  • Sports science support
  • Access to an individual sports mentor
  • Free membership to the university’s gym
  • Lifestyle management seminars
  • Opportunities for flexibility with academic programme

Other sport specific scholarships have been established with a
wide range of clubs, organisations and governing bodies of sport.

Note:

Successful candidates for sport specific scholarships will
receive benefits according to the partner the scholarship is linked
with, which may differ from the ones listed above for the open
sports scholarship.

We also have sports partnerships with a range of local clubs, who
support playing and coaching opportunities for our students.

Sports partners include:

  • The FA and Gloucestershire FA (refereeing)
  • RFU (refereeing) and Gloucester & District Referees’ Society
  • Hucclecote Netball Club

Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme (TASS)

The Talented Athlete Scholarship scheme (TASS) is a government
funded programme that provides a partnership between sport,
further education and higher education establishments. The
faculty supports a range of TASS Scholars in both individual and
team sports.
