Jon is a Political Sociologist who lectures across the social sciences here at the University of Gloucestershire, including teaching on modules for Sociology, Criminology, and Geography. His PhD focused on the European Parliament and the integration of democracy in decision making at a supranational level.
Jon has also been an associate lecturer for the Open University and taught on modules that include Sociology, Criminology, Geography and Economics. Prior to this, he worked in social housing, supporting high-risk males with histories of offending to manage their problem behavior and live independently
Currently, Jon’s research interests include: the changing nature of global authority; the role of democracy in global governance; the history of ‘race’; and the changing dynamics of person centered approaches in supported housing.
Jon is the departmental Senior Tutor for Natural and Social Sciences.
