Cheltenham 

 

Cheltenham is a fantastic place to visit, study and live. Here are some of the reasons why.

Easy to Get To

There is a direct coach from London Heathrow (around two hours) and Birmingham, Bristol and Cardiff airports are approximately one hour away.

Central Location

With its central location, it's easy to visit other cities and towns. Bath, Birmingham, Oxford and Stratford are approximately one hour away and we're only two and a half hours from London.

Parks and Gardens

If you like sitting in parks, then you'll love Cheltenham as we have some of the best parks and gardens in the country.

Excellent Shopping

With its excellent range of high street shops, shopping centres , supermarkets and "specialist" shops, you should find everything you want.

Restaurants, Cafes, Bars and Nightclubs

The town has many restaurants, coffee shops  where you can find all kinds of food day and night. The town also has a busy nightlife scene and you can go to one of the many bars or nightclubs, or relax in one of the cosy local pubs.

Arts and Cultural Centre

With its theatres and 11 screen cinema there is always something to see and do. You can also visit the art gallery or museum or the famous Pittville Pump Rooms. Gloucester Cathedral (where Harry Potter was filmed) is also nearby.

Sports and Free Time

If you like to keep fit, you can join one of the gyms in the town. Cheltenham's Leisure Centre has a gym, weights' room and a swimming pool. You can also swim in the Sandford Park Lido - the town's open air swimming pool. You can also join one of the university's sports clubs.

International Festivals

Cheltenham is famous for its international festivals of literature, music and science. Its sports festivals include the cricket festivals and the famous Gold Cup horse race.

Countryside

Cheltenham is surrounded by the Cotswold hills. You can go walking in the Gloucestershire countryside, visit the Cotswold villages for a cream tea or go to areas of beauty such as the Forest of Dean.
