How to Apply 

You can apply for any of our English courses on-line, by post or by facsimilie.

Please send us:

  • A completed application form
  • 2 passport sized photographs
  • a copy of your passport
  • Cerificates or documents to support your current level of English
  • A £200 deposit for each term of study

Please fax your application form along with all other documents from overseas to +44 1242 714425 or from the UK to 01242 714425.

Your photographs should be sent by email to cilc@glos.ac.uk or by post to the address above. 

How to pay the deposit

You can pay your deposit in the following ways:

  • Credit/Debit card - you can pay online here or call us from overseas on + 44 1242 714092 or from the UK on 01242 714092
  • Bank transfer - you can make payment directly into our bank account please email us at cilc@glos.ac.uk for our bank details
  • Bankers draft or cheque - please make it payable to 'University of Gloucestershire' and write your name on the back.
  • Cash - in person at Cheltenham International Language Centre

What happens next

When we receive your application we will send you a letter confirming your offer of a place on the course and receipt of your deposit payment. You can use this letter to help get a visa if you need one, if you are applying for a Tier 4 Student Visa this letter will include your CAS number.

We will also send you an invoice for the rest of your fees, which you should pay, either before you arrive or on your first day.

We aim to process all applications within 2 working days of receipt of all necessary documentation.

Offer letters and CAS letters will be sent by Royal Mail airmail, a courier service can be arranged however you will need to pay for this in advance.

Visas and Immigration

Students from outside the European Union (EU) generally need to apply for “entry clearance” (more commonly known as a “visa”) before travelling to the UK. 

Student Visitor Visa is appropriate if your course lasts for 6 months or less or Extended Student Visitor Visa if your course lasts between 6 and 11 months AND you are certain you will not want to work while in the UK AND you are certain you will not need to extend your visa from within the UK. In all other cases, and for all courses lasting 12 months or more, you should apply for entry clearance as a Tier 4 (General) Student. Terms and Conditions

Please note if you cancel a course fewer than 6 weeks before the start date, you will be expected to pay the full cost of the course.

Please note there is an administration fee of £50 for your first application, this will be charged on your invoice.
