Cheltenham International Language Centre has been running teacher training courses in Teaching English as a Foreign Language since the mid 1980s.We offer courses leading to the Cambridge ESOL CELTA which is an internationally recognised qualification. The course is designed for those with little or no experience of English language teaching. We offer intensive face to face courses and from April 2012 blended learning courses (CELTA online) You can find more information about these courses using the links.
We pride ourselves on our friendly, relaxed atmosphere, the quality of support we offer and the results our trainees achieve because of this.
Training Team
All our trainers are permanent members of the teaching team ( we don't employ freelance trainers of buy staff in to work on our CELTA courses) and we have worked together for a number of years developing the course we run today. When not working on a training course, tutors will be teaching EFL classes, which means we are practitioners as well as trainers and able to keep up to date with the latest techniques and resources. Two of our trainers are assessors for the CELTA scheme so they externally moderate a number of CELTA courses at other centres. This all means you will be taught by experienced trainers who are part of an established team.
The CELTA course:
- Teaches you the principles of effective teaching
- Provides a range of practical skills for teaching
- Gives you hands on teaching experience
- Builds your confidence
