Teaching English as a Foreign Language

Taster Days

Who is the course for?

Our TEFL taster days are not surprisingly designed to give you a 'taste' of what is involved in teaching English as a foreign language (TEFL).

Taking a professional course leading to a recognised worldwide qualification such as CELTA,  requires a commitment in terms of time and money. Our taster days are a way of testing the water to see if TEFL is for you and to help you decide if you should make the investment.

What the course includes

The taster days give you an introduction into a number of different areas of a TEFL course. These include:

  • An Introduction to the Cambridge ESOL Celta Course
  • Foreign Language Session
  • Student Motivation - What Makes Students Study EFL
  • Watching and Discussing a Recorded Lesson
  • An Introduction to English Grammar and Vocabulary
  • Peer Teaching
  • Career Opportunities

The approach to the course is designed to reflect the approach to English language teaching so sessions are participative and hopefully fun.

The training team and location

The course is taught by members of our permanent training team and takes place on the Park Campus in Cheltenham.

Course fees and dates

The cost of the day is £50.00 and if you decide you do want to apply for one of our CELTA courses we will deduct this from your course fee if your application is successful.

The next taster day is on -  Thursday 4th July 2013

If you are interested in applying please complete the application form here.

Please note attendance on the taster day does not guarantee a place on the next CELTA course if it is already fully booked.
