Immigration Control

While you are on the plane, you will be given a ‘Landing Card’. This is a form that asks for your personal details, and you should complete it before you arrive at the UK border.

When you get off the plane, follow the sign for ‘Arrivals’. At passport control, there will be two queues – one for EU/EEA nationals and another for all other passport holders.

EU/EEA nationals do not have any immigration restrictions and can enter the UK freely by showing their Passport or National Identity Card.

Non-EU/EEA nationals are required to tell the Immigration Officer the purpose of their stay in the UK and show the following documents:

  • Landing Card
  • Passport showing entry clearance
  • The documents used to obtain entry clearance, such as:

            • Letter from the University of Gloucestershire
            • Evidence of funds, such as bank statements or letter from your official sponsor
