Libraries host a number of interactive online tutorials to help you make the best use of our online resources and to reference your results correctly.
Information Skills Tutorial
The Information Skills Tutorial takes you through the process of conducting a literature search for an assignment. It will help you use resources like the Library Catalogue (OPAC) more effectively. It includes sections on how to search for journal articles using online databases and to access the full electronic version. Other sections cover the evaluating information and referencing.
Referencing and Plagiarism
We also have online referencing tutorials which show in detail how to reference correctly for the system used by your field of study. There are four referencing types used by the University and a tutorial is available for each together with more information on how to recognise and avoid committing plagiarism in your work. Please contact your module tutor if you are in doubt over which system is used by your field of study. A series of Quick Referencing Guides are also available.
