For many international students living and studying away from home can be challenging as well as exciting.
You may feel:
- homesick
- miss your friends and family
- feel lonely, lost or confused by the different culture
- pressure to meet high expectations from home
In general your experience may be very different from what you have imagined before you came here.
All of these feelings are part of the transition process. However, the experience of loneliness and feelings of anxiety and unhappiness can be quite overwhelming at times. Asking for help often means that you will be able to get on with your life a lot sooner than trying to cope on your own.
What we can offer
The Counselling Service provides several services to help International Students get the help and support they may need in order to make the most of their time studying abroad.
We offer one-to-one sessions, workshops and a specific group for International Students.
