The following case studies are provided by students studying at Egerton University in Kenya. Their research degrees are at Masters level. Currently the examples demonstrate an international perspective which includes both group and individual study. All of the research projects involve innovative research within local communities and businesses. The students’ research aims to further knowledge which will help improve local businesses and conditions. As a consequence of conducting this research one project has lead to the formation of a small business with other students. The students have presented their work at national and international conferences. In the Student Observations the individual students outline their experiences of conducting research and what they have gained from their Masters degree.
